Over Thirty Years of Professional Experience
Like many vintage radio enthusiasts, the rewards of tuning in with tube sets began in my youth. I made my first purchase with paper route earnings at the age of fifteen on a 1929 RCA Radiola 60 Super-Heterodyne, applying patience and extensive research just to get it working. The inventor of this set had made many improvements that made listening to the “60” a wonderful experience. My hobby evolved into a profession several years later when I was employed by a TV and Radio repair shop. I learned to repair and restore some of the great vintage radios from the 20s, 30s and 40s. I began collecting and restoring color and black and white televisions from the 40s and 50s, and proudly own a fully operational RCA CT 100 color television from 1954.
Full Restoration and Repair Services
A word of warning for those who collect and enjoy listening to vintage radios: in the early 2000s I learned that frail wiring in these old radios may compromise the integrity of the set. It is strongly recommended that full restoration including rewiring be performed on radios built in the 1920s through the 1940s.
We can restore your Wooden, Bakelite, or Catalin cabinet. If you have a vintage phonograph, the cartridges usually need to be restored, and we have an expert that we send them to. We also have an expert that can fix ripped speaker cones.
